MAPPA’s Ranma 1/2 Anime Second Trailer Revealed!

Netflix will stream the series weekly worldwide.

The second PV for the TV anime Ranma 1/2, created by Rumiko Takahashi, has been released. The trailer also includes a snippet of the opening song for the new anime, titled “Kyokon-kyun” by ano.

The anime is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix starting October 5, with regional release dates varying. Streaming will begin on October 6 in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia, with new episodes released weekly.

The anime remake of Ranma ½ is set to release over three decades after the original’s conclusion. This announcement followed the reboot of another Rumiko Takahashi classic, URUSEI YATSURARanma ½, Takahashi’s third major series, was serialized from August 1987 to March 1996, spanning 407 chapters and 38 volumes.

Netflix describes the story as follows:

Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo’s parents have arranged for them to get married. However, there’s a problem: whenever Ranma is splashed with cold water, he turns into a girl! The stage is set for a slapstick martial arts rom-com filled with quirky characters!
