MAPPA, one of Japan’s most influential animation studios, has officially brought on Yuichi Fukushima, vice president and producer at CloverWorks, as an external director. Alongside this appointment, Motoi Okuno has been named as a new executive officer.
Fukushima expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, calling it a “great honor” and commending MAPPA’s leadership and innovation in the anime industry.
Motoi Okuno, who has extensive experience in 3DCG production, stated that he hopes to act as a bridge between the production team and management, ensuring open communication and shared vision.
Fukushima brings a rich production background from GONZO, A-1 Pictures, and CloverWorks, with major credits including:
- Birdy the Mighty: Decode (Production Assistant)
- The Idolmaster (Production Desk)
- The Idolmaster Movie, Your Lie in April, SHELTER, Darling in the FranXX, Akebi’s Sailor Uniform (Animation Producer)
- Wind Breaker, Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- (Recent Production Roles)
Okuno, meanwhile, is known for his CG work on:
- Fate/Grand Order -First Order-, Kakegurui xx, Chainsaw Man (as CG Director)
- Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS (as 3DCG Animation Director)
Their combined expertise signals a promising new era of creative collaboration and leadership at MAPPA.
