Mamoru Hosoda’s Scarlet Set for U.S. Release in December

From Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda.

Mamoru Hosoda’s latest anime film Scarlet is set for a nationwide release in Japan on November 21, with a U.S. theatrical debut following on December 12. Alongside the release dates, a teaser visual and a special preview video have also been unveiled.

According to Variety, the story revolves around a princess who journeys across time and space. During the announcement event for Scarlet, Hosoda revealed that the film employs a unique animation style, distinct from both traditional 2D and Hollywood-style CGI. The narrative will explore profound themes of life and death, complemented by elements of action and romance.
