Mamoru Hosoda’s Scarlet Anime Film Reveals First 7 Minutes

Mamoru Hosoda’s latest anime film Scarlet premiered in Japan on November 21, opening in 388 theaters and debuting third at the box office. Nineteen days later, Toho Movie streamed the first seven minutes on its official YouTube channel.

Starting December 13, the film will be shown in Dolby Cinema, MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, and ULTRA 4DX theaters, with limited-edition mini-color papers featuring Hosoda’s illustrations of the seven heroines available at screenings.

Scarlet will reach U.S. audiences through Sony Pictures Classics with a one-week IMAX run beginning December 12, followed by a nationwide release on February 13, 2026.

INTRODUCTION:
