Little Mouse’s Red Vest Children’s Book Series Gets TV Anime Adaptation

Written by Yoshio Nakae & illustrated by Noriko Ueno.

The beloved children’s picture book series Little Mouse’s Red Vest is getting a TV anime adaptation. The news was announced today alongside the release of the 43rd book in the series, Little Mouse Wants to Be a Painter, which hit shelves in Japan on the same day.

First published in 1974 by POPLAR Publishing, Inc., the series has sold over 5 million copies to date. Written by Yoshio Nakae and illustrated by Noriko Ueno, Little Mouse’s Red Vest is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
