Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has officially surpassed 500,000 pre-registrations, according to an announcement from Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G. To celebrate, all players will receive the ★4 “[Aiming for Greater Heights] Mina Ashiro” when the game launches.
In addition, a new milestone reward has been revealed: if the game reaches 850,000 pre-registrations, players will also get the ★4 “[Blade Specialist] Soshiro Hoshina”.

The team also unveiled a new illustration of Gen Narumi, the First Division Captain of the Defense Force, voiced by Koki Uchiyama. His character PV (promotional video) is being released today.

Based on Naoya Matsumoto’s acclaimed manga Kaiju No. 8, originally serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+, the series has now exceeded 18 million copies in circulation in Japan, including digital editions, across 15 volumes. The second season of “Kaiju No. 8” began airing from today, July 19. The new season is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME – STORY:
Mysterious gates known as the Kaiju Dimensional Gates have suddenly appeared due to the actions of a certain Kaiju. In this new Kaiju No. 8 world, where Kaiju with unknown powers appear not only in Japan but across the globe, Identified Kaiju that were once thought to be defeated now confront the Defense Force by passing through these Kaiju Dimensional Gates.
On top of that, unknown Kaiju possessing special abilities—and seemingly responsible for the creation of these Kaiju Dimensional Gates—continue to cross over the boundary between dimensions to launch their attacks. Their appearance has led to a series of battles against colossal Kaiju.
