Shinji Saijyo’s Iron Wok Jan! is set to receive a TV anime adaptation in 2026. The series will be directed by Ei Aoki, with animation production handled by studio TROYCA. Alongside the announcement, a “super teaser” promotional video featuring scenes from the original manga has been released.

“Iron Wok Jan!!” is “Cooking is a game!”, a Chinese food manga known for its intense and unconventional cooking battles. The story follows a young chef with a strong personal creed who faces many unique and rival chefs.
The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) from 1995 to 2000. In 2025, the series celebrates its 30th anniversary. The original series is now available in a 13-volume digital edition. Sequels and spin-off have also been published, including Iron Wok Jan! R: The Summit Operations and Iron Wok Jan! 2nd. The total circulation of the franchise has exceeded 10 million copies.
