Based on Akiyuki Nosaka‘s short story and directed by Isao Takahata, Studio Ghibli‘s heart-wrenching film “Grave of the Fireflies” is coming to Netflix on September 16! It will be available in over 190 countries, excluding Japan, as part of ongoing efforts to expand the platform’s extensive lineup of best-in-class anime from Japan.
Named the Best Animated Feature at the 1994 Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, this film proves that not all anime tales are pixie-dust fantasies or brutal sci-fi standoffs.
