A special best-of selection featuring episodes from all six generations of GeGeGe no Kitaro will air weekly starting April 6. The ending theme song, “Party of Monsters”, will be performed by Kiyoshi Hikawa in collaboration with t.komuro.
This curated lineup will showcase iconic episodes from the franchise, spanning from the original 1968 series to the latest 2018 adaptation.


The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe premiered in November 2023 in Japan, achieving a box office gross of 2.79 billion yen (approximately US$19.11 million). The film was a contender for Best Animated Movie at the 47th Japan Academy Awards, where it won an Excellence Award.
This marks a significant event for the GeGeGe no Kitaro anime franchise, as it is the first theatrical film in 15 years since Gegege no Kitaro: Nihon Bakuretsu!! in 2008. The project is directed by Go Koga, with screenplay writer Hiroyuki Yoshino and character designer Toko Yatabe, known for their work on various anime titles, contributing to the production.

Nearly twenty years into the 21st century, people have forgotten the existence of Yokai. When a number of unexplainable phenomena plague adults of the human world with confusion and chaos, thirteen-year-old Mana writes a letter to the Yokai Post in search of answers, only to be greeted by Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro…
