Toei Animation has announced a new feature-length anime film sequel titled Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart as a follow-up to its 2014 film Expelled from Paradise. The announcement was made during the Virtual Anime Fes livestream event with a teaser trailer.

The sequel reunites the main staff, including director Seiji Mizushima (Shaman King Mobile, Suit Gundam 00), scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero), character designer Masatsugu Saitō, and composer NARASAKI (D-B Super, Prison School). A key visual for the film has been revealed. The original film, Expelled from Paradise, garnered success with its 2014 release in Japan, winning the Best Animation of the Year Award at the 24th Japan Movie Critics Awards. Aniplex of America also released the film in theaters and on Blu-ray in the United States.
