Eren the Southpaw TV Anime Reveals Main PV Ahead of April 7 Premiere

The main trailer for the TV animeEren the Southpaw, based on the manga by Kappy, has been officially released. The opening theme song is “FUNKIN’ BEAUTIFUL feat. ZORN” performed by ALI, while the ending theme, “New Walk”, is performed by Mulasaki Ima. The anime is scheduled to premiere on TV Tokyo at midnight on April 7.

It has been officially announced that Episodes 1 to 3 will have an advance theatrical screening in cinemas across Japan, including a special showing at Kino Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo. The limited screening will run for one week only, starting on March 27, 2026.

During the stage greeting event held on March 15 at Kino Cinema Shinjuku, a commemorative set of postcards illustrated by Kappy was distributed to attendees.

Eren the Southpaw was initially released as a web manga by Kappy, running from March 2016 to September 2017. A remake version, illustrated by nifuni, was later serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ from October 2017 to October 2022 and compiled into 24 volumes.

Live-action drama introduction:
Koichi Asakura struggles with the limitations of his own talent but still hangs on to the dream of one day becoming a “somebody.” Meanwhile, Eren Yamagishi is a tremendously gifted artist who must deal with the pain and loneliness that comes from being a genius. These two have a fateful encounter in high school and will eventually go their separate ways – one as a designer in a major advertising agency and the other as an artist based in New York. A mediocre talent and a genius; the two opposites go through failures and setbacks as they try to discover who they really are.
