Dragon Ball Super: BEERUS Anime Officially Announced for Fall 2026

SUPER, begins!

At today’s Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in Makuhari Messe, Japan, it was announced that Dragon Ball Super will return with a new ENHANCED edition called Dragon Ball Super: BEERUS, set to premiere in Fall 2026.

This new version will feature:

  • Updated visuals and fully re-rendered footage
  • Revised scenes and new cuts
  • Newly recorded dubbing, score, and sound effects
  • A reconstruction of the story for more faithful adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s original work

The launch trailer shows Beerus, the God of Destruction, threatening Earth, with Goku, Vegeta, Whis, and other allies ready to face him. Fans can expect more immersive battles and high-quality animation.

Additionally, a new series called Dragon Ball Super: THE GALACTIC PATROL, continuing from the “Universe Survival Arc”, was also announced at the event. Fans can look forward to both series in the near future, celebrating Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary.

The globally beloved manga DRAGON BALL by Akira Toriyama continues to captivate fans through a wide range of media—from TV animation, movies, games, and merchandising—standing as a top-ranked title with extraordinary worldwide popularity. Now, in 2026, the anime Dragon Ball Super, original work, story, and character design by Akira Toriyama, is set to begin anew as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus! This ENHANCED edition introduces a large volume of newly added and redrawn cuts, as well as a reconstructed narrative. With cutting-edge visual expression, the series delivers even more immersive battle scenes and a more faithful representation of the original manga—bringing an ENHANCED edition to life like never before.

Several years have passed since the fierce battle against Majin Buu, and Earth has finally regained a brief moment of peace. At the same time, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long, deep sleep. Even Kai and Supreme Kai, aware of Beerus’s overwhelming power to destroy entire planets, watch his awakening with great fear… Meanwhile, Beerus hears rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza—and suddenly appears before Goku. Targeted by Beerus, the strongest being in the universe, Earth is in grave danger. Thus begins an Earth-shattering cosmic battle between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies—a conflict that will shake the entire universe.

Dragon Ball is a famous Japanese manga created by Akira Toriyama. It was originally published by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1995. The English version of the manga is available from VIZ Media.

The story was adapted into several popular anime series. You can stream the original Dragon Ball, along with its sequels and spin-offs — Dragon Ball ZDragon Ball GTDragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball DAIMA on Crunchyroll.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Story:
The story follows Goku and his friends, who have been reduced to a small size by a conspiracy and must embark on a new world in order to solve it. The series also develops the mysteries of the Dragon Ball worldview, and depicts great adventures and intense action in an unknown and mysterious world.
