The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film stormed theaters this weekend, breaking records both in the U.S. and worldwide.
The anime epic opened at number one in the U.S. box office with a projected $70 million debut the biggest opening weekend ever for an anime film, surpassing Pokémon: The First Movie’s long-standing record from 1999. It also marks the top U.S. animated debut of 2025 and the strongest September animated release to date.
Latin America delivered an impressive $29 million opening, while Europe contributed $17.4 million, the Middle East $6 million, and India $5.2 million—marking the country’s biggest animated film debut ever.
Regionally, Infinity Castle broke anime opening records in multiple markets: Mexico ($9.8M), Brazil ($4.4M), Peru ($2.8M), Central America ($2.4M), Argentina ($2.2M), and Chile ($2.2M). It’s now the top anime film ever in the UK ($4.6M), Spain ($3.7M), Italy ($3.0M), Saudi Arabia ($2.8M), the UAE ($1.4M), and Australia ($3.2M).
Globally, Infinity Castle has now overtaken Mugen Train in new markets, securing its place as a historic milestone for anime at the box office.

The highly anticipated film is now playing in Japan. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have officially announced the international theatrical release dates for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. The film will be available in Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English!
The movie will begin its global rollout in August 2025, with screenings in the United States and Canada starting on September 12, 2025. Check out the list of International theatrical dates:

Tanjiro Kamado – a boy who joined an organization dedicated to hunting down demons called the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister Nezuko was turned into a demon.
While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment District, as well as Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.
As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.
The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.
