DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO Teaser Reveals First Glimpse of Animated Film

At its 10th Anniversary Event “Beyond The Strand”, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS unveiled a major expansion of the DEATH STRANDING universe. The studio revealed that an animated film project is officially in development, accompanied by a first teaser trailer.

Currently titled “DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO” (working title), the film will explore new dimensions of Hideo Kojima’s acclaimed franchise.

In 2023, A24 officially announced its collaboration with Kojima Productions and its founder, Hideo Kojima, to develop a live-action adaptation of Death Stranding. At the time, Kojima emphasized that the film would not be a straightforward “direct translation” of the video game.

Death Stranding was originally developed by Kojima Productions and published by both 505 Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. According to 505 Games, the game is officially described as:

From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes a critically acclaimed, genre-defying open world action adventure for PC, starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner.

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.
