Dark Horse is bringing back a modern manga classic with the Deluxe Edition of Oldboy, the intense psychological thriller by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi. Set to launch in January 2026, the release marks a new chapter for fans of the original manga and director Park Chan-wook’s iconic 2003 film adaptation.
This two-volume hardcover collection will present the complete manga in an oversized 7″x10″ format. Book One, arriving on January 6 (bookstores) and January 7 (comic shops), includes volumes 1–4 across 848 pages. Book Two, wrapping up the series with volumes 5–8, follows on March 24 and 25, 2026. Both editions are priced at $69.99 USD.


Originally published in Japan in the 1990s and winner of the 2007 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material, Oldboy is a gripping tale of memory, revenge, and isolation. The new Deluxe Edition features metallic silver foil covers, ribbon bookmarks, and updated English lettering by Michael David Thomas and Kathryn Renta, with a translation by Kumar Sivasubramanian.
