Crunchyroll, the global streaming platform, today announced a groundbreaking partnership with UK rapper and anime fan Che Lingo, for an original song created to celebrate the Fall 2023 season!
The song “Lifetime” is a reflection on the key themes found in anime. It is performed with Japanese singer MIKU NAKAMURA from the rock band Cö shu Nie, who notably penned the “Give it back” ending to the first season of JUJUTSU KAISEN.
Crunchyroll Fall Anime Lineup Trailer:
After exploring the themes of dark fantasy and its epic battles, Che Lingo has developed a song that highlights opposites and the duality between shadow and light. The lyrics of “Lifetime” echo the initiatory journeys of shônen heroes, who must overcome challenges and difficulties throughout their adventures. MIKU’s voice, complementary to Che Lingo’s, adds a lighter touch and echoes this duality.

“Anime inspires so much freedom, and we were able to exercise that creatively to the beat of a unique drum to show a genuine connection between anime, music and story-telling, manifesting a moment we can all celebrate through ‘LIFETIME’. I hope the sentiment lasts as long as the title suggests.”
Fans can listen to a sample of the song by watching Crunchyroll’s fall anime trailer, available on the YouTube channel. The full song will soon be available in its entirety on Spotify.
