Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Original Anime Film Unveils Main Trailer, Visual & Theme Song Details

A high school girl meets a mysterious girl from the moon?

The main visual and trailer for the original anime film Cosmic Princess Kaguya! have been released. The film will be available exclusively on Netflix worldwide starting January 22, 2026.

Shingo Yamashita, known for his work on opening sequences for JUJUTSU KAISEN, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura, is making his feature film directorial debut with Cosmic Princess Kaguya!.

The main trailer features two songs. The first half showcases “Watashiha Watashinokotoga Suki,” written by HoneyWorks and performed by Kaguya, voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi. The second half introduces “Ex-Otogibanashi,” a new song by ryo (supercell), serving as the film’s main theme and performed by Yachiyo, the manager and diva of the virtual space Tsukuyomi.

On January 23, 2026, ryo (supercell) released a new single featuring the tracks “CPK! Remix” and “Ex-Otogibanashi”. The single is a reimagined collection based on songs originally produced for the stage play Cosmic Princess Kaguya!.

In addition, both the manga and novel adaptations of Cosmic Princess Kaguya! have been confirmed. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Taro Yoneda, will appear in the February 2026 issue of Comptiq (KADOKAWA), featuring the first two episodes. From episode 3 onward, the series will continue in Comic Comp.

The novelization, written by Naruto Kiriyama, was published on January 30th. Under the full supervision of director Yamashita, it includes numerous scenes and details not found in the main story. The corresponding book edition is set for release on February 10th.

Iroha Sakayori is a busy high school student whose only escape is the popular online virtual world, Tsukuyomi. Here, people use clones to live out their dreams and pursue creative freedom. But Iroha’s ordinary life in Tokyo is suddenly flipped upside down when she finds a baby emerging from a glowing utility pole. The infant quickly grows into a girl her own age, forcing Iroha to face an unbelievable question: Is this girl the modern-day Princess Kaguya?
