Toei Eiga YouTube channel has officially uploaded a clip from the Kitaro Tanjou: GeGeGe no Nazo anime movie! The story set in the 1950s, explores the birth of Kitaro and delves into the hidden mystery surrounding his father, Medama Oyaji.

This marks a significant event for the GeGeGe no Kitaro anime franchise, as it is the first theatrical film in 15 years since Gegege no Kitaro: Nihon Bakuretsu!! in 2008. The project is directed by Go Koga, with screenplay writer Hiroyuki Yoshino and character designer Toko Yatabe, known for their work on various anime titles, contributing to the production.

Synopsis of the serie, according to Crunchyroll:
Nearly twenty years into the 21st century, people have forgotten the existence of Yokai. When a number of unexplainable phenomena plague adults of the human world with confusion and chaos, thirteen-year-old Mana writes a letter to the Yokai Post in search of answers, only to be greeted by Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro…
