BLUE LOCK Live-Action Film Reveals First Teaser Visual

Based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro‘s original work.

The popular sports manga BLUE LOCK is officially getting a live-action film adaptation. The project was first announced in September 2025, and the first teaser visual has now been revealed.

The movie will be released in Japan in summer 2026, timed to coincide with the World Cup. Produced by CREDEUS the studio behind Kingdom, Golden Kamuy, and the blockbuster Kokuhou the film promises to bring the anime’s intense, ego-driven soccer battles to life on the big screen.

The anime’s first season, which aired from October 2022 to March 2023, became a global sensation and even inspired the hit film BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-. Now, Season 3 is set to bring the fan-favorite Neo Egoist League Arc to life, where Japan’s top strikers clash with eccentric, world-class rivals in an international showdown like no other.

The anime is based on the award-winning manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke NomuraBLUELOCK is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and assistant-directed by Shunsuke Ishikawa at studio eightbit.

Crunchyroll is streaming both the ongoing seasons and BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-, which it describes as follows:

Japan’s desire for World Cup glory leads the Japanese Football Association to launch a new rigorous training program to find the national team’s next striker. Three hundred high school players are pitted against each other for the position, but only one will come out on top. Who among them will be the striker to usher in a new era of Japanese soccer?
