BET Live-Action Adaptation of Kakegurui Manga Officially Announced!

BET is set to bring the thrilling world of the acclaimed manga “Kakegurui” to life with a new live-action adaptation currently in production. The live-action is led by showrunner Simon Barry (Warrior Nun) and Boat Rocker Media.

BET will explore the tale of Yumeko, a mysterious transfer student from Japan, whose arrival disrupts the hierarchy, status quo, and underground gambling scene of a boarding school. With a dark secret and unparalleled gambling skills, she quickly finds herself at odds with the powerful Student Council.

The original Kakegurui manga  by Kawamoto and Naomura, which began in March 2014, has inspired several spinoff manga, multiple anime TV seasons, and live-action adaptations, including both TV series and films.

Yen Press describes Kakegurui manga as follows:
