Fans of the Baki franchise got a special treat at New York Comic Con 2025 during Kodama’s panel, “Beyond Baki: Cosplay, Editing & New Challenges“. Hosted by MC Seb Baik with panelists Pierre Dubost, Sullivan Rouaud, Logan Chitwood, and Michael Lacerna, the panel offered behind-the-scenes insights, cosplay stories, and exclusive announcements.
The highlight was the first U.S. reveal of the official 35th anniversary logo for Baki, marking 2026 as a milestone year. Fans also saw a trailer for the upcoming global English release of Baki the Grappler and heard about celebrations planned for the anniversary.
Panelists reflected on the series’ enduring appeal. Editor Michael Lacerna described the honor of working on the English edition, noting Baki’s influence across pop culture. Cosplayer Logan Chitwood shared how embodying Yujiro Hanma inspired him both physically and personally. The panel ended with a Q&A and a commemorative photo with fans.
With over 100 million copies sold and more than three decades of storytelling, Baki continues to influence manga, anime, and pop culture worldwide.
