The All You Need Is Kill anime film will make its North American premiere at the upcoming Fantasia International Film Festival.
The new anime adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s popular sci-fi novel joins a packed anime lineup at this year’s festival. All You Need Is Kill will screen alongside notable features like the 4K restoration of Mamoru Oshii’s Angel’s Egg, offering a rare opportunity to experience the cult classic with enhanced visuals on the big screen.

The festival will also spotlight indie creativity through the Anime no Bento program, which showcases innovative short-form anime. This year’s selection includes the international premieres of LOCA! directed by Ion Miyamoto and Yuta Uchiya, and Dungeons & Television by Junchukan Bonta. The world premiere of the “science-fiction maxi-short” Beyond the Trail, directed by Vab.png, is also part of the lineup.
Fantasia’s 2025 anime offerings were previously confirmed to include several other highly anticipated titles.
These include Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey, ChaO, Honeko Akabane’s Bodyguards, Mononoke The Movie: Chapter II – The Ashes of Rage, Tamala 2030: A Punk Cat in Dark, Ya Boy Kongmin! The Movie, and the first four episodes of Nyaight of the Living Cat.
The Fantasia International Film Festival continues to be a major platform for anime premieres and international recognition, making it the perfect stage for the North American debut of All You Need Is Kill.
