Ado Takes Over “Chibi Maruko-chan” Anime Opening Theme Starting December 28

Chibi Maruko will celebrate its 36th anniversary of its anime adaptation in January 2026.

Ado has been newly selected to perform the opening theme song “Odoru Ponpokorin” for the TV anime Chibi Maruko-chan, based on the original work by Momoko Sakura. The updated opening will debut with the broadcast airing on December 28.

Official announcement:

“Odoru Ponpokorin” has remained popular since the anime first began airing in 1990. Originally performed by B.B. Queens, the song was used as the ending theme at the start of the broadcast before later becoming the opening theme. Over the years, it has been covered by numerous artists. This marks the first change of the performing artist in six years and eight months.
