The anime film A NEW DAWN has been officially submitted to the competition section of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. Held every February in Berlin, Germany, the festival is one of the three major film festivals in the world, alongside Cannes and Venice.
Marking Yoshitoshi Shinomiya’s feature-length directorial debut, the 1 hour 15-minute film is scheduled for release in Japan on March 6, 2026.
In France, the film will be released both in theaters and on streaming platforms through a partnership with ADN, while international sales are handled by Charades.

Official story:
The Obinata Fireworks Shop factory is getting prepared for an administrative action for confiscation tomorrow. It has been six years since Keitaro has been holed up in a closed-down factory creating fireworks by himself, chasing after an illusion of his father who vanished. It is a story about three young people who overcome the extreme weather conditions, disasters and environmental problems imposed on them and establish their own identities.
