With the original manga boasting over 30 million copies sold worldwide, Nube remains a nostalgic cultural touchstone, especially across Southeast Asia. Chilli Beans.’ contribution honors that legacy with “Himawari ひまわり” — a slow-burning ballad named after the sunflower, weaving themes of protection, trust, and emotional resilience through soft twilight tones and heartfelt lyrics.

Written, composed, and arranged by the band themselves, the song draws inspiration from school corridors at sunset, the fading sound of the final bell, and the quiet connection between teacher and student. “We pictured the feeling of walking home at sunset,” the band shared. “The strength of the teacher is in the sound, and the lyrics express the student’s quiet trust.”

“Himawari ひまわり” marks a tender yet fresh sonic departure for Chilli Beans., expanding their expressive range while staying true to their narrative depth. It’s a track that gently lingers — like a summer memory that refuses to fade.
