Japanese boyband GENERATIONS released their latest digital single, ‘Two Steps Back’, on April 7, 2025. This marks the third installment in the PRODUCE 6IX COLORS project, in which each of the group’s six members produces a new song to be released monthly over six consecutive months.
GENERATIONS “Two Steps Back” jacket:

The track was produced by group leader Alan Shirahama, with sound production by Shintaro Yasuda, a Grammy-nominated Asian-American producer known for work with Ariana Grande and BLACKPINK’s LISA. Built around a hypnotic hook and dynamic rhythm, the song explores the emotional push and pull of romantic distance, blending melancholy with an energetic global sound. The lyric video, animated by illustrator Nui, brings a stylish 1990s retro aesthetic to the release.
