Japanese band Atarayo have released a new digital single titled ‘moon ship’ on April 9, 2025. The song serves as the new ending theme for the rebroadcast version of the popular anime ‘Assassination Classroom’.

Departing from their usual medium-tempo, melancholic ballads, ‘moon ship’ opens with a strong bassline, joined by drums and guitar that reflect the cool energy of the anime. This dynamic sound represents a new chapter for the band as they celebrate their 5th anniversary.
The lyrics, written by vocalist Hitomi, explore the idea of reaching for something out of reach, and the emotional strength that comes from trying, growing, and learning to accept your past self. The track is a message of resilience, reflection, and personal growth.

Following their successful 1st Asia Tour in 2024, Atarayo will hold their first solo concert in Korea on May 25, 2025, at UNDERSTAGE in Seoul, as part of the Hyundai Card Curated 98 series. The band continues to build momentum across Asia.
‘moon ship’ is Atarayo’s first release of 2025, and will be followed by a second single, ‘I still love you’, on April 23, featured in the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama Parallel fufu: Shinda “Boku to Tsuma” no Shinjitsu.

Formed in 2020, Atarayo are often described as “a band that feeds on sadness”. Their name means “sorrowful night” in Japanese, a beautiful night too sad to let go, reflecting the bittersweet emotion at the heart of their music.
The band began posting music on YouTube in November 2020, and last year they sold out all six shows (including added dates) of their first Asian tour, simply titled Atarayo 1st Asia Tour 2024, proving their growing popularity overseas.
