Additional cast members have been announced for the TV anime Matsurika Kanriden: Takeo Otsuka, Kotaro Nishiyama, and Sho Komura.
The anime’s first main PV has also been released, along with details about the opening theme. The opening song, “Hanabanashi”, will be performed by KANA-BOON. The anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.

The Matsurika Kanriden light novels have been published since July 2017 under Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG Bunko label, with 18 volumes released. The manga adaptation by Waka Takase has been serialized in Monthly Princess magazine since August 2018.
The story follows a commoner who rises quickly in the Inner Palace thanks to her good memory and a romantic encounter with the Emperor.
