The hit manga Manchuria Opium Squad, which has sold over 3.5 million copies in Japan, is getting an anime adaptation.
The first anime visual has been revealed alongside the announcement. More details about the animation studio and staff will be announced later on the official website and social media accounts.

Set in Manchuria in 1937, the story follows Isamu Higata, a soldier in the Kwantung Army who loses sight in his right eye during battle. To save his sick mother, he becomes involved in the illegal opium trade, setting him on a dangerous path.
The crime suspense manga is written by Tsukasa Monma, illustrated by Tsurushima, with original art concepts by Shikako.
The manga has also resumed serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine.
