The TV anime adaptation of Tsumuji Yoshimura’s Just Like Mona Lisa has been officially confirmed, with animation production handled by SHAFT. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and a newly illustrated commemorative artwork by Yoshimura have been released.
The series will also be featured at AnimagiC 2026, one of Europe’s largest anime conventions, held in Mannheim, Germany, starting July 31. A special stage event is scheduled for August 1 local time, where the main cast will be revealed for the first time, along with the worldwide debut of the teaser PV.

Originally serialized on Gangan Online from May 2018 to October 2022, the manga concluded with 10 collected volumes. The series has surpassed 1 million copies in cumulative circulation. Square Enix publishes the English edition and provides an official description of the story:
In this world, people are born without a gender. Their bodies shift toward their desired gender when they reach twelve years old. Until Hinase’s eighteenth spring, they lived content without a gender. But the bubbly girl Ritsu and thoughtful boy Shiori pull Hinase in opposite directions when they both confess their feelings on the same day!
