Inherit the Winds TV Anime Set for January 2027, Theatrical Version in 2026

Aniplex, Live2D, and Drive, will join forces to challenge new visual expressions using Live2D technology.

The original TV anime Inherit the Winds has revealed additional cast members and a new promotional video. It was also announced that the series will premiere in January 2027, with a theatrical advance version set for release in 2026. The announcement was made today, March 28, at AnimeJapan 2026, held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

The anime is set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. A soldier who has lost his memory is taken under the wing of the renowned Shinsengumi member Sōji Okita. Okita gives him a new identity, naming him Junsuke Tachikawa. Amidst the Mibu soldiers, Junsuke begins a new chapter in his life.
