Inherit the Winds Anime Shares First “Four Seasons” Illustration

Tomohiro Kawamura directs the anime at studios Live2D Creative Studio and Drive.

The original TV anime Inherit the Winds has unveiled a newly illustrated “Four Seasons” visual for Spring. Ahead of its TV premiere in January 2027, the anime will also receive a theatrical screening in Japan later this year.

Aniplex, Live2D, and Drive are collaborating on the project, aiming to explore new forms of visual expression through the use of Live2D technology.

The anime is set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. A soldier who has lost his memory is taken under the wing of the renowned Shinsengumi member Sōji Okita. Okita gives him a new identity, naming him Junsuke Tachikawa. Amidst the Mibu soldiers, Junsuke begins a new chapter in his life.
