Hyakki Yakoushou Gets Short Anime Adaptation This April

Horror manga magazine Nemuki+.

The manga Hyakki Yakoushou (Beyond Twilight) by Ichiko Ima is getting a short-form anime adaptation. The anime is scheduled to begin this April. The news was announced in the March 2026 issue of Nemuki+.

According to the announcement, the anime will be a motion comic. This means it will use the original manga artwork, but with added color, movement, dialogue, and sound effects.

The series, set in a mystical world inhabited by demons and spirits, features standalone stories and has been in serialization since 1995. It currently spans 31 collected volumes. Over the years, it has also inspired a nine-episode television drama, a stage adaptation, and multiple drama CDs.
