Hirayasumi by Keigo Shinzo Gets Anime and Live-Action Adaptations

Sometimes slowing down is the best way to move forward.

An anime adaptation and a live-action drama series of Hirayasumi, the manga by Keigo Shinzo, have been officially announced. The anime will be produced by Production +h. VIZ co-produces the anime.

Meanwhile, the live-action drama will air on NHK as part of its “Night Drama” programming block. Episodes will run for 15 minutes each and will be broadcast Monday through Thursday at 10:45 p.m., starting this fall in Japan.

Hirayasumi vol. 1:

The manga has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits (published by Shogakukan) since April 2021, and has surpassed 1.1 million copies in cumulative circulation. VIZ Media describes the series as follows:

At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people who surround him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
