A new TV anime adaptation of Higurashi: When They Cry has been officially announced by Studio DEEN, alongside the release of a teaser visual, promotional video, and cast details.

Studio DEEN previously adapted 07th Expansion’s original visual novel in 2006, producing the first anime series as well as its sequels Higurashi: When They Cry Kai and Higurashi: When They Cry Rei. More recently, the franchise was rebooted by Studio Passione with Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU airing in October 2020, followed by Higurashi: When They Cry – SOTSU in July 2021.
