The popular action webtoon Hero Killer is officially getting an animated television series. The project was announced during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026. The series will be produced by Passion Paris and directed by David Pagaille.
To celebrate the reveal, the production team shared a new illustration by the original creators, the first official teaser visual, and launched the anime’s official website and social media accounts.

According to the announcement, the anime aims to faithfully bring the webtoon’s action, scale, and emotional storytelling to audiences around the world.
Originally created by writer Kkulbeol and illustrator Beolkkul, Hero Killer is published by Jaedam Media and is one of the most successful action webtoons on Naver Webtoon.
The series has over 250 episodes, is available in 10 languages, and has attracted millions of readers worldwide with its intense action, unique art style, and engaging story.

Pagaille is recognized for his distinctive approach to animation, blending a deep understanding of Japanese anime storytelling and aesthetics with a fresh visual sensibility. In 2024, he directed Moonlit Bamboo Forest, the acclaimed animated short set within the Genshin Impact universe and produced by Passion. Praised for its artistic direction and emotional storytelling, the film achieved worldwide success and earned a nomination at the 2025 Annie Awards.
