[UPDATED] Evangelion Completely New Series Production Started

Yoko Taro to write new Evangelion series!

On February 23, a special event titled “EVANGELION: 30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELIO” was held to celebrate 30 years of the famous anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

During the final program of the festival, the production of a completely new “evangelion” series was officially announced. This is the first report about the brand-new project.

The series composition and screenplay will be written by Yoko Taro. The directors of the new series are Kazuya Tsurumaki and Toko Tanitabe. The music will be composed by Keiichi Okabe. The animation production will be handled by Studio Khara × CloverWorks.

More details about the new “Evangelion” series are expected to be announced soon.

Neon Genesis Evangelion was directed by Hideaki Anno and produced by Gainax. It aired for 26 episodes between 1995 and 1996. Two films followed in 1997: Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and The End of Evangelion.

The franchise later returned with the four-film Rebuild of Evangelion series by Studio Khara, released from 2007 to 2021, ending with Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.
