Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a major overhaul for DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA, set to arrive toward the end of 2026.
The update will completely change the game’s battle experience, moving from the current top-down perspective to a third-person, over-the-shoulder view. The new system will put a stronger focus on action while keeping the game’s team-based strategy.
The overhaul will also introduce redesigned battle rules, updated Hero abilities, and new customization options, including MAX Super Attacks, which can replace existing Super Attacks. More details about the changes and how existing player data and items will carry over will be revealed later this year.
Meanwhile, Season 7, which celebrates the game’s first anniversary, will launch on September 9. Super Gogeta will join the roster as a new Hero, while Android 19 will be added as a new Technical Helper and San-Shinron as a new boss. Starting with Season 7, the boss lineup will rotate every two weeks.
The anniversary season will also feature several special campaigns, including a campaign offering up to 140 free Capsules, anniversary login rewards, the Anniversary Celebration G-Capsule, and the Lucky Box Battle event.
Additional content, including Halloween-themed Skin Bundles, Special Passes, tournaments, and more campaigns, is planned for the second half of Season 7.
DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA is available for free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, with optional in-app purchases.
