American indie nail brand Mooncat has announced a new collaboration with the popular manga series DEATH NOTE, celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
Launching on October 30, 2026, the collection features nine special-effect nail polishes inspired by the series’ dark atmosphere, supernatural elements, and iconic characters.
The collection includes nine shades: Misa Misa, Rem’s Requiem, Mourning Rain, Shinigami Realm, God of the New World, Sunset Over Tokyo, Gods of Death Love Apples, Sugarfuel Brain Calories, and Ryuk Was Bored.
Each shade features unique effects and intense colors inspired by the world of DEATH NOTE. The collection also comes with specially designed bottles featuring matte-black caps.
A limited-edition collector’s box set will be available for $158, including all nine nail polishes and an exclusive sticker set.
According to Mooncat founder Michelle Lin, who is a longtime fan of DEATH NOTE, the collaboration was inspired by the series’ distinctive visual style and dark color palette.
Founded in 2021, Mooncat is known for collaborations inspired by popular fictional worlds, including Avatar: The Last Airbender and Star Wars. With this latest release, the brand brings the dark world of DEATH NOTE into the beauty industry.
DEATH NOTE manga ran in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2003-2006, followed by Madhouse‘s TV anime adaptation from 2006-2007.
