Crunchyroll Anime Awards Returns on May 25, 2025 in Tokyo!

Voting is set to commence on April 3, 2025.

During Crunchyroll’s industry panel at CCXP, it was announced that the ninth edition of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards will return to Japan. The event is scheduled for May 25, 2025, at Tokyo’s Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa and will feature an official livestream for audiences worldwide.

The awards will now recognize anime released between October 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024, covering five anime seasons. Moving forward, the eligibility period will align with the calendar year, running from January 1 to December 31 in future editions.

Fan voting for the 2025 Anime Awards will open on April 3, 2025, following the completion of the judge nomination process for all 32 categories. The full list of nominees will be available on the official Anime Awards website. This year introduces three new categories: Best Isekai, Best Background Art, and Best Hindi Voice Artist.

Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira are set to return as co-hosts for the event, with opening remarks delivered by Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation. Joining them musician Pabllo Vittar as a celebrity presenter. Additional presenters and musical performers will be announced soon.
