COM-BATTLER V will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 with special projects, including a new animated video and an upgraded version of its iconic mecha.
The anniversary video features scenes from the original 1976 anime, followed by a newly animated battle between Com-Battler V and Black Com-Battler, a new enemy inspired by the limited-edition Soul of Chogokin figure released in 2000.
To defeat this powerful opponent, the heroes reveal a secret weapon: a sixth battle machine that transforms the robot into Com-Battler V6.
COM-BATTLER V│Special 50th Anniversary Video:
Bandai will release a new Soul of Chogokin Com-Battler V6 figure in February 2027. The figure will stand approximately 260mm tall when combined and will include all six machines, including the new Battle Armor, as well as classic weapons such as the Chodenji Yo-Yo.
Pre-orders will open on August 3, with a price of 55,000 yen. A new Black Com-Battler figure will also be released later as part of Bandai’s Shokugan Modeling Project’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Originally broadcast from 1976 to 1977, COM-BATTLER V was directed by Tadao Nagahama and is the first entry in the “Robot Romance Trilogy,” followed by Voltes V and Daimos. The story follows five young pilots who fight to protect Earth from an alien invasion.
