Following the release of Chiikawa episode 381 in Japan today, the TV anime will take a short break and is scheduled to return in January 2027.
The anime, based on Nagano’s popular manga, will stop airing new episodes from October 2. During the break, a special “revival broadcast” will air popular episodes from the series.

A total of 25 revival broadcasts are scheduled to air until December 25. The special broadcasts will give new fans who discovered Chiikawa through movies and other media a chance to enjoy some of the anime’s most popular episodes, while also giving longtime fans an opportunity to revisit them.
The revival broadcast will begin on October 2 with Episode 6, “Friends / Dorayaki,” one of the series’ early fan-favorite episodes.
Starting the week of October 6, episodes will be aired as part of themed “series,” including the popular “Somehow Vania” arc, with a different series rotating each week.
During this period, only the opening episode of each series will be broadcast on TV every Tuesday and Friday.
Every Friday, a video featuring the complete series from beginning to end will also be available for one week on the Mezamashi TV YouTube channel, FOD, and TVer.
