A special preview video featuring brand-new footage has been released for the theatrical anime Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island, based on Nagano’s original work. The film is set to premiere in Japan on July 24.
The film will adapt the manga story arc commonly known as the « Siren Arc » or « Island Arc ». The movie will feature Haruka Aoki, Makoto Tanaka, and Ari Ozawa reprising their roles as Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, just like in the TV anime series.
