The IMAX version of the anime movie “Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island”, created by Nagano, will be released in Japan at the same time as the regular theatrical release on July 24. An official IMAX poster has also been revealed.

The film adapts one of the longest stories from the original series, known by fans as the “Siren Arc,” with Nagano’s full supervision. The story follows Chiikawa and her friends as they visit a mysterious island where they are warmly welcomed.
