A new sci-fi manga called GalaXic Baseball League will launch in 2026 through a major partnership between MLB Players, Inc., OneTeam Partners, and BW NYC Studios, Inc.. The manga will be published by VIZ Media.
The series is created by Japanese artist and mangaka Acky Bright. Known for his work with DC Comics and Marvel, Bright said the idea came from watching the 2023 World Baseball Classic final, when fans said the match felt “more dramatic than a manga”.
GalaXic Baseball League is described as the first original manga project to feature active professional baseball players. The story mixes baseball action with science-fiction and anime-style storytelling.

The editorial development of the manga is led by Hisashi SASAKI, former editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump, the famous magazine behind series such as One Piece, Naruto, and Demon Slayer.
The manga will begin digital serialization on July 2, 2026, exclusively on the VIZ Manga app. The first print volume is scheduled for release in October 2026.
With its mix of sports, manga, and futuristic storytelling, GalaXic Baseball League hopes to attract both baseball fans and sci-fi readers around the world.

In the distant future, baseball has rocketed into the cosmos. What was once America’s pastime is now a high-stakes interplanetary competition in which teams from every corner of the universe battle for glory. Amid a sinister plot to wreak havoc on the galaxy, legendary baseball players team up with two unlikely heroes in their quest to save Earth – and the heart and soul of baseball.
