The production committee behind Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke has issued an official apology after confirming that AI was used in the creation of parts of the anime’s opening sequence.
According to the statement, the issue was brought to light following a report and subsequent verification by WIT STUDIO Co., Ltd. The studio acknowledged that certain cuts in the opening video included AI-generated material, prompting immediate discussions with the production committee.
As a result, the opening sequence will be revised. Starting from episode 2, viewers will see a corrected version of the opening. Additionally, episode 1, which has already been broadcast and made available via streaming platforms, will be updated with the revised opening after episode 2 airs.
The committee also addressed potential impacts on home video releases, noting that any changes to the Blu-ray BOX or DVD release schedule will be announced at a later date if necessary.
The statement emphasized that the situation has generated significant feedback and concern from fans online. The production committee issued a formal apology to viewers, the original author, and all parties involved, acknowledging the disappointment caused.
Moving forward, the committee confirmed it will work closely with WIT STUIO to review its production processes and implement measures aimed at preventing similar issues in the future.
