It has been announced that Ruki Shiroiwa (from JO1) will voice You, the main protagonist in the feature-length anime film AS ONE. A special video featuring Shiroiwa delivering You’s lines has also been released.
The prequel film to Square Enix’s arcade game “Starwing Paradox” titled “AS ONE“, will premiere in Japanese theaters on August 22.

AS ONE is a prequel set 20 years before the events of Starwing Paradox. In response to Square Enix’s vision of creating a film that wasn’t constrained by the game’s content but focused on delivering an engaging story, director Shizuno developed the concept and crafted an original narrative alongside the screenwriter. Sadamoto, responsible for the original character designs, reimagined all the characters specifically for the film’s production.
Directed by Kobun Shizuno (Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters), the film will feature character designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, best known for his work on Neon Genesis Evangelion and Great Pretender.
