It has been announced that AnimeJapan 2027 and AnimeJapan 2028 will be held in Osaka. AnimeJapan 2027 is scheduled for March 27–28, 2027, at Intex Osaka.
For the past 13 years, AnimeJapan has been one of the world’s largest anime festivals, traditionally held in Tokyo. With the support of the Osaka Tourism Bureau, the event will showcase the appeal of Japanese animation to a global audience and strengthen the content industry in western Japan. A teaser PV featuring talent Sono Hiramatsu has also been released for AnimeJapan 2027.

The AnimeJapan executive committee stated:
“All committee members will prepare to deliver surprises and discoveries to everyone who has attended AnimeJapan so far, as well as to fans living in western Japan, as one of the world’s largest anime festivals. Osaka will present the charm of anime on a new stage.”
At the time of the announcement, 21 companies and 1 organization that are part of the AnimeJapan executive committee confirmed their participation in AnimeJapan 2027.
