Akane-banashi anime, based on the manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue, will premiere in the United States this April. The world premiere will take place in New York at the Japan Society on April 1 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Fans will be able to watch the first episode of the series.
The event will also include a special behind-the-scenes presentation about the anime’s production. In addition, rakugo performer Katsura Sunshine will give a live performance and talk about the traditional Japanese storytelling art.
A second event, called the Akane-banashi Special Screening by TV Asahi, will take place at Anime Boston on April 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Katsura Sunshine will also attend this event. He will perform and share more cultural insights about rakugo.
