The 30th anniversary project for After War Gundam X has revealed a new key visual, commemorating the anime’s 30th anniversary.
The visual was newly illustrated by character designer Nobuyoshi Nishimura and mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki. It was unveiled on September 25, the date of Japan’s Harvest Moon, which also connects to the moon motif featured throughout the series.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, four episodes of After War Gundam X—Episodes 1, 14, 29, and 39—are currently being screened at five theaters across Japan through the “After War Gundam X 30th Anniversary Screening“.
A special screening will also be held at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro in Tokyo on September 27, featuring a talk show with director Shinji Takamatsu, character designer Tomohiro Nishimura, mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki, and voice actor Wataru Takagi, who plays protagonist Garrod Ran.
After War Gundam X originally aired for 39 episodes from April to December 1996. It was the third non-Universal Century Gundam TV anime series, following Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
Sunrise describes After War Gundam X as follows:
Fifteen years after the end of the Seventh Space War, the earth has been left devastated as a result of falling colonies. A boy meets a Newtype girl and becomes a Gundam pilot to fly out to the sea of twinkling stars.
